CPR For The Soul: Coaching Personal Resilience By Design

with Master Business Coach, Mike R. Jay

Welcome to Coaching Personal Resilience

“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes…and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.

– Eleanor Roosevelt

In this interactive training program, Mike will share with you the power of resilience and how to coach personal resilience using a proprietary approach Mike has developed over the past 16 years of coaching people around the world.

I took the CPR for the Soul workshop a few weeks ago. I was excited to participate in this seminar because the particular assessment used as the foundation, the Reiss Profile, aims to uncover deep individual strivings and tendencies and I was curious about what that could mean to my development.

Turns out there were a few aspects of my assessment results that I had judgment about and as is the case so often in life my initial reaction was to try to understand how I could "change myself" or "manage myself" to be different in those areas that were troubling to me. I quickly learned that we were going to take a completely different approach; one that affirms and acknowledges one's unique set of attributes, and then proceeds to leverage what that set is in combination with a stellar action planning process that incorporates the requirements needed to achieve one's objectives.

In other words, it's about creating a design that includes what I bring as well what the system requires to be resilient. I particularly learned a lot from the real world examples that were provided as well as the exercises we did. When my energy and creativity were thus supported to working within who I really am, with new knowledge about my deepest needs and strivings, I find that I am experiencing a whole new level of resilience and effectiveness in my life and work. Thanks, Mike, you've done it again, I am a raving fan!

Why should you attend?

We are experiencing unprecedented times in terms of stress, turmoil, depression, competition and globalization. No time in history has presented as much opportunity for failure among so many people.

GOOD NEWS!

Even as we experience what seems to be the enemy at the gates, promoting higher levels of resilience has proven to be the key to success in good times and bad.

Yet, most people don't know how to approach resilience without trying to change themselves and we all know that is really tough to do most of the time.

In our system of producing higher levels of resilience, we use a striving-based approach to identify the strong and weak tensions that make us each unique.

Applying a user-customizable program of strategy and tactics around 4 paradigms of valuing:

  • power
  • accountability
  • authority
  • responsibility

to create the ability to engage, account, author and respond to conditions in each of our lives through a strengths-based, authentic approach, we can improve awareness, purpose, competence, well-being and results.

While this is not a quick fix program, it is a quick-acting program. People leave the seminar with greater knowledge of who they are, why they do what they do and how they can utilize their strengths and limitations to produce higher levels of resilience and optimism in any situation.

Simply put, we learn to discover, accept and disclose those parts of our authentic selves in a very practical, down-to-earth approach.
