Presented by Manya Arond-Thomas, M.D., Certified
Business Coach
In this 3-part series, you will learn about the
importance of emotional intelligence in personal
well-being, leadership effectiveness and individual and
team performance. We’ll look at emotional intelligence
as a theory of performance, and how you can apply it
personally and professionally, with individuals and
teams. We will work with the model of emotional
intelligence demonstrated by the Emotional Competence
Inventory (ECI) and developed by Drs. Daniel Goleman and
Richard Boyatzis. While there are a number of models of
emotional intelligence, it is their research that
demonstrated that emotional intelligence, more than IQ
and technical skills combined, is what distinguishes
outstanding performers from average performers.
Based on 35 years of competency research, the Emotional
Competence Inventory (ECI) is a gold-standard for
providing individuals and teams 360 degree feedback on
their strengths and limits. You will understand how to
use this tool for powerful developmental work, whether
for yourself or for your individual and/or team coaching
clients.
You will also learn a simple but powerful leadership
styles model that correlates with the emotional
competencies, as well as the elements that must be
present to build emotionally intelligent
high-performance teams.
You can expect to emerge from this experience with
significantly more understanding of this critical
competency area and opportunities for development for
yourself, your teammates, and your clients. Emotional
intelligence is a critical success factor in personal
and professional success, fulfillment, and well-being,
and is a hallmark of excellence in leadership.
