RECOGNITION and REGULATION
Pushing a lot of important things aside for now, a key to the lock of self-awareness is the time it takes you to RECOGNIZE and REGULATE your behavior; internally and externally.
I discussed TRIGGERED AWARENESS as the capability to know that you have been triggered… and that is where the LOW ROAD & the HIGH ROAD cross paths.
However, what passes is time, and time can be our friend in self-awareness, but usually isn’t.
This is why you never engage when you have been triggered — you delay, deflect, and desensitize, until those low and high roads cross paths.
You see, recognition and regulation need time, which you will not have, if you are not ensconced in SELF-KNOWLEDGE.
The amount of time it takes for you to recognize your internal state in the current conditions and to allow yourself to regulate to those conditions determines your progress in both self-knowledge and self-awareness.
