[LI] VOLTAGE Matters

Right off the bat…

VOLTAGE (Complexity)

• Vertical
• Oblique
• Lateral
• Time
• Age (Maturity)

Without question this construct is (and should be) controversial.

That aside, it’s very useful although certain facets may be overemphasized to the detriment of this valuable construct.

Its acronym is representing the concepts of energy and information as forces used to describe aspects of our behavioral performances over time and across maturation…

…along with the slope of those performance trajectories.

I can’t not say that intelligence is off the table, rather under it I suspect as it’s just not PC to mention anything about intelligence — taking such a valuable explanation for many aspects of our lives and rendering them moot.

At least let’s mention problem solving and decision making over our lifetimes in a simple graphic:

Problem solving

The following shows us why our problem-solving ability (fluid intelligence) diminishes over time and how our decision making (crystalized intelligence) improves as a result — agers take heart!

IQ Scores

VOLTAGE is a way of discussing complexity of behavior in related but different realms of activity.

Einstein quote

Therefore the VOLTAGE of the person being helped aids in the discernment of where they are…in turn informing our use of the helping functions to enable actionable advice, discover IMULL and ITEAM among others to identify internal, external, financial, and developmental (IEFD) constraints.

It’s simple, it’s just not easy.

LEARNING TAKEAWAY: VOLTAGE matters.
