Development for Leaders
Series III
1-Minute Daily Microcasts
Day 9
[LI] ITEAM Rules…
With a bit of a play on words, our ITEAM rules our behavior.
While you will hear pundits pontificate there is no “I” in TEAM, I will refute that notion with fervor.
You explain to me where you get your INFORMATION and I’ll predict your behavior with respect to:
• Information
• Time
• Energy
• Attention
• Motivation
I will say in the early days of this work, money was a likely substitute for motivation.
However since the world is not largely Politically Correct… motivation sounds better. 😉
Do you remember the admonition that if I know who your friends are, I can “usually” predict your life in 5 years?
Well information in ITEAM serves a similar purpose.
As we learn more and more about reality which usually is a far cry from our perception, energy and information become the “witching” tools for our humaning.
Based on our information, how we spend or invest our time, energy, attention, and motivation says more about us than our explanations of those perceptions about reality.
I have found ITEAM to be invaluable in using helping functions to help form actionable advice where people are… and they will always tell you if you can listen for and hear ITEAM.
LEARNING TAKEAWAY: Listen for ITEAM… as it rules!
