Dynamic Inquiry is a flexible, adaptive and fluid form, process and structure of interaction applying 7 developmental coaching skills; guided by others revealing their now, near and far capacity, capability and potential — their expectations and needs under current Conditions where cues, scaffolding, support, and lift dynamically offer actionable advice, help and guidance often with corresponding products and services where appropriate to create, maintain, and sustain win, win, win scenarios, and VOL/T* development.

*VOL/T = Vertical, Oblique, Lateral (Development) / Time

Why you need these skills?

Meeting people where they produce “actionable advice” along with understanding what’s next, or even possible to assimilate.

The reason that our efficiency as a professional is so low when we are dealing with people is related to where we are vs. where they are.

How do we know how much “energy and information” they can process, assimilate, and apply?

Over 3 decades, Mike has identified through developmental constructs how to describe a person and their developmental position through inquiry.

How will you meet them?

There are 4 criteria, specified by Argyris in FLAWED ADVICE and the MANAGEMENT TRAP (2000), required for advice to be actionable:

“…specifies the detailed, concrete behaviours required to achieve the intended consequences;

-It must be crafted in the form of designs that contain causal statements;

-people must have, or be able to be taught, the concepts and the skills required to implement those causal statements;

-and the context in which it is to be implemented does not prevent its implementation.”

The question that remains, how do you know if the person has the Capacity, Capability, and Potential (CCP)… and where are they in relationship to the Content, Context, Conditions, Code, Culture, and Core Requirements of the task or Role?

Until you possess the DYNAMIC INQUIRY SKILLS to evoke their Capability, Bias, Style, Level, Role, Values, and System Dynamics…you don’t know where they are…
