Power-Law Distribution
Scale free network = a network with large hubs with extensive links and most other connections scattered among many connectors.
It’s important because in a scale free network — them that hath gets. I’ve used this idea figuratively to help us understand that even our motives and values fit a scale free model where a few determine most of the connections.
Power law distribution = unlike a bell curve distribution which seems most popular, most network activity — perhaps as much as 65% can be classified as having a power law distribution which is the result of a scale free network. A Pareto law generates a power law distribution as an example.
