[ABCs] Y: Archetypes

LeadU SK+ L&LI Microcasts:
A daily 1+ minute “conscious” read.

Archetype:

An archetype is a universally understood symbol or term or pattern of behavior, a prototype upon which others are copied, patterned, or emulated. Archetypes are often used in myths and storytelling across different cultures.

One of my favorite archetyping systems are depicted with animals in Chinese astrology. People may often wonder how these intricate systems of detail were built around behavioral or cosmological patterns?

No TV or Internet, right?

While it’s an attempt at humor it’s just amazing what you can create without distractions.

One of my favorite charts is this one:
CHINESE ASTROLOGY

While there is a lot more than animals to archetypes, this makes a good example of primed behavior to play with in self-knowledge.

More contemporary are the archetype ideas from Carl Jung, although Jung’s Archetypes were influenced by astrological work done for centuries ahead of him.

In whichever case, including archetypes in your self-knowledge journey such as Enneagram and others can often be insightful in the least.
